Big and beautiful Birds of Prey from TreeHouse Wildlife Center will be at the Confluence Tower this Saturday, February 4 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Stop by to meet the animals and learn about the raptors that live in the area. Then, take a tour up the tower in hopes of spotting some through the scope! The Confluence Tower will be open Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.

Are you itching to continue your eagle season celebration? The Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower and the Itchy Brothers can help! Watch Luke Harris and Don Johnson create amazing bald eagles using raw wood and their chainsaws tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m at the Confluence Tower. Harris and Johnson, the duo that makes up the Itchy Brothers, have more than 30 years of experience in chainsaw art. There will also be pieces of finished wood sculptures available for sale. The Tower will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Don't miss the Chip Off the Block Ice Carvers as they return to the Confluence Tower tomorrow to create an American Bald Eagle from a single block of ice! Carving will take place from noon until 2 p.m. and the sculpture will remain on display at the Confluence Tower until it melts. The Tower will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Have you ever watched an expert transform a block of ice into an artistic masterpiece? If not, you're in luck! Chip Off the Block Ice Carvers will return to the Confluence Tower on Saturday, January 21 from noon until 2 p.m. to create a sparkling American Bald Eagle from a single block of ice! The sculpture will remain on display at the Tower until it melts.

As the temperature continues to drop at the Meeting of the Great Rivers, the ice is bringing more than just chills. In previous years, hundreds of American Bald Eagles have returned to reclaim their nests along the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway between Alton and Grafton. Catch a glimpse of these beautiful birds and their unbelievable nests at the many eagle watching hot spots all around Alton, including the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower. Itchy Brothers Chainsaw Art scheduled for Saturday at the Tower has been postponed due to the anticipated winter weather! Come out to the Tower on Saturday, Jan. 28 to see the Itchy Brothers in Action. This is a free event although there is a charge to tour the Tower.

Kick off this highly anticipated season at the Alton-Audubon Eagle Ice Festival this Saturday, January 7 at 10 a.m. After you play games, win prizes and even meet a live bald eagle, head to the Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower to scope out these beautiful birds in their winter homes. The Tower will be open Sat., Jan. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun., Jan. 8 from noon to 5 p.m.

Begin your eagle watching adventure on Saturday, Jan. 7 and pick up an eagle watcher’s card at the Alton Visitor Center. Get the card stamped at five of the 11 hot spots and then return it to the Alton Visitor Center to receive an official Meeting of the Great Rivers Eagle Watcher T-shirt! #LCCTower
